Samyang Foods Chair Kim Jung-soo describes how the company injected the full flavor of jjajangmyeon, or black bean noodles, into Charrr, a pack of instant ramyeon, during a media event at the firm headquarters in Seoul on Wednesday.
According to Samyang Foods, the new beef tallow product sold over 10 million units in the first 100 days of its launch while claiming second place on the list of most popular instant black bean noodles in Korea. The company said it expects 10 billion won in sales from Charrr this year.
Samyang Foods noted that its researchers visited some 100 restaurants famous for delicious jjajangmyeon and conducted more than 450 tests over a year and a half to craft the perfect liquid sauce for Charr's savory flavor blended with beef tallow. (Samyang Foods)
