LG Group launched a nationwide photo contest and workshops for new employees and couples preparing for marriage on Monday, under its new “Smile Project” campaign.
The groupwide initiative comprises “Smile Moment,” a contest for photos of people smiling, and “Smile Class,” which offers practical guidance on work and married life. Applications for both close Oct. 18 at lgsmileproject.com.
The photo contest will award prizes to 50 entries selected by experts, with winners announced Nov. 2. Images generated with artificial intelligence and entries that violate copyright or portrait rights are ineligible.
Each winner can choose 1 million won ($740) in cash, an LG Electronics StanbyME 2 Max smart lifestyle screen or 1.5 million won in LG Uplus service discounts. Winning photos will appear on six outdoor digital displays around Gwanghwamun in central Seoul in December, as well as in newspaper advertisements and other channels.
Smile Class will offer a session for employees who joined their companies on or after Jan. 1, 2025. Scheduled for Nov. 1 at LG Discovery Lab in Magok-dong, western Seoul, it will cover workplace situations, practical AI use and career development, alongside job-specific mentoring.
Workshops for couples preparing for marriage will run Nov. 6-7 at Ground220, LG Electronics’ cultural complex in Yangpyeong-dong, western Seoul. Topics include communication, sharing household responsibilities, interior design and financial planning.
Participants will be selected by lottery. LG said it would consider expanding the workshops based on feedback from the first sessions.
The project follows earlier LG campaigns, including “Love LG,” which ran from 1995 to 2014; “Right Future,” from 2017 to 2018; and “Future, Together,” launched in 2022.
